We’re giving your sports team or club the chance to win a WordPress Website worth £1,000 and a NEW sponsored team kit.

Entries are now closed for the initial application stage of our sponsorship competition and now it is over to you!

We have been through the entries, we loved all of them but feel that the following five jumped out as being the most worthy for the prize!

Strathglass Shinty Club

Based in Cannich, Strathglass reinstated their 2nd team in 2017 with the aim to keep junior players invested in the sport. At the moment the 2nd team are having to use mixed kit from previous years. The younger players show great determination which means Strathglass raised a team for each of their fixtures.

Thistle Girls Football Club

A newly formed club in 2017, they coach girls from primary 1 through to under 17’s. The club is free and as well as coaching football aims to teach the girls about nutrition and health. Girls football has been in decline in the North of Scotland and Thistle FC hope to turn this around. They currently have no funding meaning the coaches willingly give up their time for free.

Balloan Football Club

Balloan Football Club have over 100 children playing in the Inverness Street League across 6 teams with ages ranging from 11 to under 17’s. 2018 sees them aiming to start an all girls team. Both the coaches and players show real dedication by training throughout the year. They take their teams to tournaments where they have the opportunity to play teams from across the world.

Drakies Primary Shinty

The Drakies Primary Shinty Team was started in 2015 and runs as an after school activity for P4-P7 children, with children joining from other schools where shinty is not offered. They have progressed to win several cups including the Caman Cup in 2017. Having started out with borrowed and repaired equipment the new team strips would help instill pride in what they have achieved.

BSGI Shinty Club

BSGI are a self funding shinty club run within Inverness Gaelic School. They coach over 60 children on a weekly basis after school. They are dependent on fundraising so that they can remain inclusive. The children would love proper strips as it is something they have never had.
